OHIO ONE ROOM SCHOOL HOUSES - MARION AND DELAWARE COUNTIES*

Over the past 15 years I have researched, to my personal limit, in numerous various sources, such as libraries, courthouses, historical societies, and such, to locate as many as possible, of the remaining old one room schoolhouses left in Marion and Delaware Counties in Ohio. I have also driven hundreds of miles around almost ever road in the county to search for visible remains. This has taken hundred of man hours to obtain this information, and I have definitely tried to assure all information is accurate as possible.

TO MAKE SURE IT TRULY WAS A ONE ROOM SCHOOLHOUSE AT ONE TIME IN THE PAST, BEFORE ANY OF THE SCHOOLS WERE PLACED ON THIS SITE, I VERIFIED THE ACCURACY OF THE LOCATION THROUGH A DUPLICATE VERIFICATION PROCESS. ALSO, EVERY HOUSE THAT IS POSTED ON THIS SITE IS COMPRISED OF THE VAST MAJORITY OF THE ORIGINAL SCHOOL,WHICH IS ALSO PERSONALLY VERIFIED. ALTHOUGH SOME HAVE HAD SIDING ADDED, OR OTHER MODIFICATIONS, THEY HAVE KEPT THE ORIGINAL STRUCTURE UNDERNEATH OF IT. EVERYTHING THAT IS POSTED IS TRULY WHAT CONSISTS OF ALMOST ALL OF THE ORIGINAL SCHOOL HOUSE.

This is a critical historic venue which can help educators and historical societies to preserve the one room schoolhouse era in not only our county, but in our state as well.
